Automation project 1

The Automation project for the production of drive axles and gear boxes, started in 2001, which envisaged an investment plan to be realized in the following 10 years and aimed at the modernisation of facilities and machines, has been successfully carried out. The acquisition of new robotic machines to produce rigid and steering axles has been gradually completed. You can find below the most relevant steps:

October 2001 – Integration of the first CNC Z-Emag VL5 series Vertical Lathe with additional automatic loader.
April 2004 - Purchase of the first horizontal machining centre CNC MCM - CLOCK TANK 1200 10 Pallet.
December 2006  – Purchase of a CNC EMCO Hyperturns 690 bi-mandrel Parallel Lathe with EWAB-Fanuc robotised loader. Simultaneous integration of the EWAB-Fanuc robotised loader on the existing CNC Graziano CTX 500 parallel lathe.
June 2007 – Purchase of the second CNC Z-Emag VL5 series Vertical Lathe with additional automatic loader.
November 2011 - Purchase of the second horizontal machining centre CNC MCM - CLOCK TANK 1200 10 Pallet.
December 2011 – Purchase of the first CNC Z-Emag VL7 series Vertical Lathe with additional automatic loader.
December 2012  - Purchase of the second CNC Z-Emag VL7 series Vertical Lathe with additional automatic loader and combined with a tilter connected to the twin machine.

The investment goals have been achieved and we now have up-to-date and efficient machines that allow us to autonomously carry out turning, cogging and crankcase manufacturing operations to produce axles for electrical vehicle, fruit harvesters, street sweepers, multi-purpose vehicles, airport ground equipments. Management has become more flexible, our quality standards have been improved and internal production costs have been significantly reduced. We are satisfied with what we have achieved and even more motivated to keep up with the optimisation of each process, for the production of driven axles, transmissions adn gear boxes which has now become easier thanks to the new management control system.

These are the tools we have deployed to face the new challenges of the global market.  Instead of outsourcing production to (cheaper) Emerging Countries, we have chosen to keep the production process in Italy and, in order to compete against the low-costs of our competitors, we try to make the best use of the technologies at our disposal.
